Welcome! Welcome to the Albox branch of The Royal British Legion. As a member we hope you find this site helpful. If you are contemplating joining the Albox Royal British Legion then these pages will help you to appreciate how you can benefit from joining. We hold our Monthly Meetings and Coffee Mornings at La Parrrilla Restaurant in Albox. All other activites are held in The Rumores Cafe. We are not charged for these facilities because the owners expect us to use their bar and restaurant facilities on our arrival and during our breaks. The more we support these facilities either during our activities or as individuals at other times the more likely this arrangement will continue. The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependents. Currently nearly 10.5 million people are eligible internationally for our support and TRBL receives thousands of calls for help every year. The Legion was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex Service community and over 380,000 (over 400 in Albox) members continue to ensure that this voice does not go unheard. Although the needs of ex Service people have changed over the years, we are still there to safeguard their welfare, interests and memory. British service people are in action around the world every day of the year. They know that if they need our support – now or in the future – the Legion is always on active duty for them. You do not need to have served in the forces to join The Royal British Legion, and there are benefits enjoyed for such people by joining the Albox Branch The Legion’s values are: - Reflection – Through Remembrance of past sacrifice in the cause of freedom
- Hope – By remembering the past, a younger generation has a chance of a better future
- Comradeship – Through shared experience and mutual support
- Selflessness – By putting others first
- Service – To those in need and in support of the whole community.
The RBL exhortation They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them |
